Members of Black Kites, Four Fingers, Greasy Hearts & HEROES Form New “Garbage Punk” Band bigheads (RTF Records)
bigheads is a new self-described “Garbage Punk” band from New Jersey that features vocalist (and professional wrestler) Jeff Cannonball, drummer Chris Benne, bassist Joe Allocco, and guitarist/vocalist Pete Wilderotter. Current and previous bands and/or projects of bigheads’ members collectively include, but are not limited to Altered Boys, Breanna Barbara, Barrow Downs, Black Kites, Four Fingers, Greasy Hearts, HEROES, The Kanamits, manvswild/M.V.W., Not The Bees!, Rough Spring, Through, and Pete Wilde & The Timeless Legends. bigheads’ music can be best described as Hardcore, Punk, Garage Punk, and Garage Rock all with hints of added New Jersey musical flair reminiscent throughout. bigheads very recently played their first show over the holidays at a special “HOLIDAY HANG OUT!” held at the National Sokols Lodge #93 in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania on December 29, 2023. It was seemingly very well-attended and introduced the incredibly unsuspecting people of the Tri-state Area to “THE FIRST MARCH OF THE BIGHEADS!” Prior to the Sokols show, bigheads quietly released their fittingly-titled two songs EP/single on Bandcamp through NJ-based imprint and fellow wrestling afficionados RTF Records.
After a couple months of mild teasing across their Instagram page, bigheads dropped their debut EP, also fittingly-titled six songs on streaming services, as well as actual factual physical cassette tapes now available exclusively on Ride The Fury AKA RTF Records’ Big Cartel store. six songs was recorded by NJ’s own Joe Dell'Aquilla (Anthony Green, The Best of The Worst, With Resistance) at Exeter Recordings. It’s a fun, purposely “sloppy” 6-song EP that’s done in just eight minutes and 56 seconds. If forced, we would compare bigheads to sounding something like the musical lovechild of The Strokes and Iggy & the Stooges combining the best elements of both Garage Rock and Punk delivered through Jeff Cannonball’s blood-curdling wail accompanied by crunchy guitar solos. Honestly, any one of these six songs heard across six songs could easily be used as Cannonball’s wrestling entrance theme music. bigheads second show will be held at Salty's Beach Bar in Lake Como, NJ on February 18, 2023 with Nervous Triggers & Payphones. bigheads’ six songs is now available on your streaming service of choice, as well as for just $6.00 digitally on Bandcamp and/or super-limited edition cassette tape directly from RTF Records.
