The Neck Deep Award Committee Presents: Neck Deep Starring In The "Heartbreak of The Century" New Music Video & Single (Hopeless Records, Inc.)

Earlier this week, just in time for Valentine's Day, UK Pop-punk/Rock band Neck Deep shared their latest non-album single and msuic video, "Heartbreak of The Century." The track is described as "a classic-sounding Neck Deep song, catchy, angsty, pacey, powerful, and a little bit pathetic" by vocalist Ben Barlow, complete with an Academy Award-deserving music video. It's definitely akin to Neck Deep's earlier more hard-edged Pop-punk material that can be heard across 2012-13 EP's Rain In July & A History of Bad Decisions. Barlow continues, "we took the idea of "The Heartbreak of The Century" and imagined if you could, actually, win an award for that. So, there we had it—a sh*tty Oscar's, where we won The Heartbreak of The Century award. We wanted the video to feel classic/nostalgic, something that was entertaining to watch, rather than your usual. It features some of our "best" (worst) acting to date and is one of our favorite videos we've ever done."

It's a quite hilarious music video that's half-performance video and half-scripted and, actually, strangely enough, showcases two unique versions frontman Ben Barlow, his brother and bassist Seb Barlow, and guitarists Sam Bowden & Matt West. "Heartbreak of The Century" follows up the band's 2022 single, "STFU," which was filled with heavy guitar riffs and driving drum fills. The track feels like a callback to the band's early days, whilst still pushing them in a new and exciting direction right into "Heartbreak of The Century." Neck Deep's fourth album, All Distortions Are Intentional, was released in 2020, via Hopeless Records. Chock-full of hit singles "Sick Joke," "I Revolve (Around You,)" "Fall," "When You Know," and "Lowlife," All Distortions Are Intentional marks an epiphany of true self-belief for its creators. Over the last decade, Neck Deep have blown up the charts, both at home in the UK and Internationally, sold hundreds of thousands of records and concert tickets, graced magazine covers all over the world, and toured with some of the biggest names in the business in the process.

Neck Deep have racked up miles touring with the likes of blink-182, DRAIN, Knuckle Puck, KOYO, Lil' Wayne, Magnolia Park, Mod Sun, nothing, nowhere., One Step Closer, Seaway, State Champs, Trophy Eyes, and YUNGBLUD, as well as multiple treks on The Vans Warped Tour. As the band enter their second decade as a band, you'd continue to be foolish betting against the boys from Wrexham. We would definitely compare Neck Deep's recent stream of output to A Day to Remember, blink-182, Simple Plan, Sum 41, and our local hometown favorites, FRND CRCL. Neck Deep are currently heading out on a brief UK tour (starting today! and) running through February 25, 2023 in direct support of YUNGBLUD. Neck Deep's "Heartbreak of The Century," as well as their latest album, All Distortions Are Intentional, is now streaming on Hopeless Records. It's already been almost THREE years since Neck Deep's last full-length album, the aforementioned All Distortions Are Intentional... so, here's hoping we hear something relatively soon about their as-yet-unannounced fifth studio album sometime this year!
