New Jersey is known for a lot of things—The Shore, Bruce Springsteen, Joe Pesci, and whatever Taylor Ham is—and has been home to Hardcore infused with Rap for quite sometime. Taking influence from predecessors, like E.Town Concrete & Fury of Five, BAYWAY bring their gritty and aggressive sound to the genre on their upcoming EP, The Newport Sessions, set for release April 20, 2023 on DAZE & RTF Records. BAYWAY's current line-up consists of vocalist Jay Way, guitarist Chris, bassist Dan, and drummer Dave. BAYWAY (oftentimes, known as BAYWAY NJ) burst onto the Jersey Hardcore scene in 2022 with their impactful five-track World of Bayway EP released on limited edition gold foil cassette tape and digitally on Ride The Fury/RTF Records.

Completely produced, mixed, and mastered by the band in Jay Way's studio, the EP features a classic skit-style intro leading into three completely in-your-face tracks. Today the band shares "Cease II Exist," packed with groove, an impressively speedy vocal delivery, a section of somewhat rapped vocals, and a beatdown-ready breakdown. Speaking on the personal lyrical content of the song, Jay states: "I have always felt like an underdog. Whether I was sleeping on the floor as a kid, living in my car as a teen, or struggling to get by in my 20's, I have just always been an underdog. I don't think I was supposed to make it. The struggles and obstacles that were put in front of me from day one were enough to break most people."

"So, to me, this song is about life experience and how hard it can be and how hard it can make you. So, if sh*t goes south when you running your mouth, my advice is you better know what you talking 'bout," Jay continued, quoting his own lyrics from "Cease II Exist." The Newport Sessions EP is now available for pre-order on cassette tape and digitally on Bandcamp jointly throygh RTF Records & DAZE. RTF have a special yellow tinted tape now on sale and DAZE have their own special green tinted tape both limited to 75 exclusively for each label and now available for pre-order. BAYWAY will play a special EP release show on April 21, 2023 in Asbury Park, NJ at House of Independents supporting Fury of Five & Sworn Enemy. Without a doubt, for us here at The Witzard at least, BAYWAY's The Newport Sessions EP is already poised to be one of the most anticipated Punk/Hardcore releases of 2023!
