The incubation is complete; re-emerging from the dank ooze of the early 2020's, The Sound of Animals Fighting (T.S.O.A.F.) returns with their new EP, APESH*T, their fourth release and first new music in 15 years. "APESH*T is equal parts renewal and the culmination of all that came before. A revival of spirit while maintaining the integrity of the key ingredients and processes that have always made this project a rewarding outlet for us. It is our best work," says The Nightingale. Masked Rock collective The Sound of Animals Fighting started in 2004. Core members The Nightingale AKA Rich Balling (Hospital Gown, ex-RX Bandits,) The Skunk AKA Anthony Green (Saosin, Circa Survive, F**kin' Whatever, L.S. Dunes,) The Walrus AKA Matthew "Matt" Embree (RX Bandits, Biceratops,) The Lynx AKA Chris Tsagakis (RX Bandits, Technology,) and a super-mysterious character known only as The Koala...

These perplexing humanoid characters form the hub of the experimental, subversive group, guiding its patchwork tinkering and re-wiring of musical form with the ghostly energy of a loved one speaking in tongues. Additional/touring part-time members may or may not include guitarist and keyboardist Steve Choi, vocalist and guitarist Matthew Kelly, bassist Jonathan Hischke, and vocalist Keith Goodwin. As fluid as its sound is the shift in shape of notable collaborators and musicians that ebb and flow with the band as they traverse space and time. Anthony "The Skunk" Green has been quite busy this year, with his new solo band, Anthony Green & The High & Driving band releasing Boom. Done., Circa Survive (who are now on hiatus) dropped an EP called A Dream About Death, and "Houdini" with F**kin' Whatever with members of Taking Back Sunday, Dashboard Confessional, and Grouplove.

Plus, Green participated in covers of Ween's "Did You See Me?" and Blur's "WOO [HOO] (Song #2)" for Jess & Bam Margera's Filthy Note Records, and L.S. Dunes' Past Lives with bandmates Frank Iero, Tim Payne, Tucker Rule, and Travis Stever from My Chemical Romance, Thursday, Murphy's Law, and Coheed & Cambria, respectively. Now, Green is back at it again with T.S.O.A.F., as well, as they prepare to release their first EP together in 15 years. "Apesh*t" will be featured on the APESH*T EP, along with three other new songs. T.S.O.A.F. recently announced they will be playying 13 shows together in-between 1/6-22 of 2023. The Sound of Animals Fighting's APESH*T will be released 12/8 on Born Losers Records.
