Rejection Pact Share New Single "Hollow Ground" from Forthcoming Debut Album CAN WE WAIT? (Safe Inside Records)

Rejection Pact (CREDIT: Jake Villanueva)

Rejection Pact is one of our personal favorite Hardcore Punk bands, who is based out of Boise, Idaho. They formed in the fall of 2017 and their current line-up features Devin Boudreax, Ralph Mugot, Charlie Ritch, Nate Spann & Hunter Wahl. Drawing influence from the mid-late 2000's West Coast Hardcore stylings of Rilvary Records, as well as the classic Bridge Nine roaster, Rejection Pact self-released a demo tape in early 2018 and linked up with Safe Inside Records to release their debut 10-song 7-inch, Threats of The World, in April of 2019. They played locally, as well as toured the West Coast & Western Canada, behind said 7-inch and played with a wide variety of bands, including Drug Church, Regional Justice Center, Mortality Rate, Magnitude, Envision, Trench, BERTHOLD CITY, Keep Flying, Lower Species, etc.

Rejection Pact plays a blend of straight-forward Hardcore & Melodic Punk that keeps the songs short and sweet, rarely crossing over the two-minute mark. With a strong lyrical focus on political and social issues, as well as personal growth/reflection, they've found comparisons to bands like Go It Alone, BANE, The Suicide File, and Comeback Kid. In 2021, they got together with Ryan Morgan of Misery Signals and recorded a new 13-song album, CAN WE WAIT?, and upon finishing recording, joined One Step Closer & Modern Color as regional support on their West Coast tour. Rejection Pact continue to fine-tune their chops and look forward to venturing out to new regions in support of their new material and to remind everyone why it's BOISE ON TOP!

Rejection Pact's debut full-length, CAN WE WAIT?, is the 12-inch follow-up and natural progression from their previous 7-inch release, Threats of The World. In familiar fashion, the songs leave no room for filler with the 13-track album clocking in at just under 20 minutes. The new album leans much more into social and political issues with every song fitting a cohesive theme that begs the question, "CAN WE WAIT?" The group pulls in influences ranging from politically charged punk acts like Propagandhi & Bad Religion to more straight forward hardcore acts like BANE & Have Heart, as well as drawing heavily from Pacific Northwest Hardcore legends, Go It Alone. The album was record by Ryan Morgan (Misery Signals, Burning Empires, Seabird) at The Tonic Room in Boise, Idaho throughout the spring/summer/fall of 2021, it was mixed by Taylor Young at The Pit Recording Studio, and mastered by Nick Townsend of Infrasonic Mastering in Los Angeles, California. In a wave where so many Hardcore bands are leaning into the heavier/mosh sound, CAN WE WAIT? is a politically-charged, p*ssed off journey that doesn't waste any time sugar-coating its message and will have you singing along and stage diving in no time.

Rejection Pact recently released the lead-off single from CAN WE WAIT?, "Hollow Ethos," along with its companion music video premiered at REVOLVER Magazine. It was directed by A.J. Duthie and stars Jason Martinez with art direction by YouthxEnergy. "'Hollow Ethos" is the first single off of CAN WE WAIT? and we wanted to release this first for a couple reasons. It was the first song we wrote for the new record and with Hunter [Wahl] in the band; so, at the time, there was a lot of excitement around being a five-piece and, lyrically, the song hits the overarching theme and question regarding the subject matter, "CAN WE WAIT?" This song really embodies the spirit of the band/record... a sense of urgency and NOW," vocalist Devin Boudreaux eclusively told The Witzrad. "Hollow Ethos" is now available to stream, download, or Save on your streaming service of choice. Here's a handy dandy link to pr-order CAN WE WAIT?, as well. Rejection Pact's CAN WE WAIT? drops 11/11 on Safe Inside Records.
