Denzel Curry Announces Melt My Eyez See Your Future: The Expanded Edition Dropping Friday with 10-piece Live Band The Cold Blooded Band (Loma Vista Recordings)


Denzel Curry is preparing to release a re-packaged and beefed up version of his fantastic fifth studio album, Melt My Eyez See Your Future, that showcasing his 10-piece ensemble, The Cold Blooded Soul Band. They recently helped make the Florida emcee's NPR Tiny Desk Concert and performance on The Tonight Show all the more captivating witha Roots-esque live jam band quality. Denzel Curry's live band/The Cold Blooded Soul Band line-up includes DJ POSHtronaut, trumpet players Marcus Paul (Anderson .Paak,) and Brandyn Phillips (Mac Miller, Robin Thicke) saxophonist/flutist Tim McKay, trombinist Alex Csillag (Mestizo Beat,) percussionist Brian Gazo (The Delirians, 2Mex,) drummer Brian Patterson, keyboardist Jay Winfield, guitarst Jack Siegel, and bassist David McKinzie. Along with the release announcement, Curry has shared a new music video for album highlight "X-Wing." Melt My Eyez See Your Future: The Expanded Edition will premiere on a livestream concert this Thursday night, September 29th, re-apperaing on all streaming platforms at midnight on Friday, September 30th.


The deluxe version of the record includes the original tracklist, plus, fully re-worked versions of 10 of its tracks, including "Walkin,'" "X-Wing," "The Ills," and "John Wayne," all featuring new, spirited instrumental backing from The Cold Blooded Soul Band. While there's no additional bonus tracks here, you'll get yet another look into Curry's genius with these live versions that have been recorded in one take. Pre-orders are ongoing. The music video for "X-Wing" is a three-minute dose of futuristic film noir that references elements of Anime and Action movies, as Curry soars through the late-night scenery while driving his X-Wing through the dimly-lit streets. Denzel Curry still has about eight remaining dates left on his current MELT MY EYEZ headlining tour, which runs through October 8th in Boston. Melt My Eyez See Your Future: The Expanded Edition drops this Friday 9/30 on PH Recordings/Loma Vista Recordings. Denzel Curry & The Cold Blooded Band will livestream this Thursday night prior to the proper album release, as well.
