Hailing from nearby Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Battalion Zośka was initially formed in 2018 by vocalist Pat Society of Violent Society & Cranked Up!, along with former members of another Philadelphia-based band, Combat Crisis. After Battalion Zośka's self-titled release in 2019, the band had a line-up change that brought long-time producer and engineer Arik Victor on guitar, as well as Steve Vaiani on drums. The new line-up wasted no time in writing and recording new songs for their sophomore effort, New Blood. Battalion Zośka's newest album, New Blood, features 16 blistering soon-to-be Punk classics. New Blood features guest appearances by many Punk super-stars. Dez Cadena (Black Flag, The Misfits) added guitar on the tracks "Everyday's The Same," "Kids," "Thick In The Head," and "Tried & Failed," which gave these songs a sonic style that only Cadena could provide.

Ian Woodcock & Brian Chevette, members of legendary Punk band Eater, provide guitar and bass on the cover track, "Outside View." Also, appearing are Stephen "Fish" Brookes (The Business, Discharge) on the tracks "Warszawa" & "Kiss The Ring," as well as Neil "Newts" Newton of The Angelic Upstarts and vocals by Peter Cornter (Dag Nasty, FIELD DAY.) Battalion Zośka intentionally try to capture the sound and spirit of 1970-80's Punk & Hardcore while trying to sound fresh and new. With their strongest line-up to date, Battalion Zośka have had the opportunity to share stages at Rebellion Festival in Blackpool, UK, as well as The Montreal Oi! Festival and been given support slots with many famous Punk bands, like Conflict, The Exploited, Cro-Mags, Sloppy Seconds, D.R.I. and even Next Wave of British Heavy Metal (N.W.O.B.H.M.) band Raven.

Battalion Zośka's unique crossover sound and lyrical topics make them a perfect fit for any genre(s) of abrasive music. Along with the digital release of New Blood, Battalion Zośka additionally shared a new promotional of themselves performing "Everyday's The Same." The songs "Kids," "New Blood," "Outside View," and "So Fine" are suggested for radio airplay. Battalion Zośka's New Blood is strongly recommended for fans of The U.K. Subs, Black Flag, Discharge, The Misfits, Defiance, Eater, and The Adverts. Battalion Zośka's new Blood is now available exclusively on Bandcamp in both digital and CD formats and will be released on 12-inch vinyl this October on Violated Records. We've been listening to New Blood a lot lately and can't wait to scoop up our own vinyl copy in the fall!
