The Drowns Re-emerge with Slade Cover "Know Who You Are" from Forthcoming Ted Hutt-produced 7-inch (Pirates Press Records)

Last Friday, on New Year's Eve, while most people were either getting ready to party (or pre-gaming!) Pirates Press Records released the A-side to The Drowns' upcoming yelloe 7-inch single, "Know Who You Are," which is streaming now, as well. Said 7-inch is, also, available now on the Pirates Press Records web-store and officially comes out later this month. The aforementioned track is, of course, a cover of the legendary Slade and the B-side features a new original track called "Guidelines of Control." The Seattle Rock "N" Roll purists have never been shy to readily acknowledge their influences and, since Day One, Slade has been high up on that list.

To quote The Drowns' guitarist/co-vocalist Aaron "Rev" Peters, "their energy and Rock "N" Roll sound is nothing short of pure sonic truth." The minute The Drowns started jamming "Know Who You Are" in-studio, they knew it was going to be great and FUN! Pirates Press Records' staff absolutely agreed and together, collectively felt it was definitely worthy of its own plate of wax! (...further solidified by the ridiculous photo The Drowns took for the front cover!) Paired with a brand new rippin' romper stomper called "Guidelines of Control," this 7-inch is just chock-full of big riffs, driving rhythms, cascading hooks, amazing guitar solos, and even a cowbell!

This is The Drowns' take on amped-up classic Rock "N" Roll with equal parts spit and swagger! Keep an eye out for The Drowns comin' through your town in 2022 with dates and venues listed below and, in the meantime, pick one of these babies up wherever great records are sold! Pirates Press explains, "earlier this year, The Drowns went back into the studio with Ted Hutt and laid down a bunch of new songs, their first new recordings since 2020's acclaimed LP, Under Tension!" The Drowns' "Know Who You Are" B/W "Guidelines of Control" 7-inch/digital single will see a wide release 1/14 on Pirates Press Records.
