Body Spray's Adam Black Reveals Himself As UNFLUENCER & Shares New Album Are You Not Infotained? (R.I.P. Influencer 2021-2021)

Adam "Influence" Black functions as the beloved bassist for Philly's own Hoagie-core pioneers Body Spray. We got a chance to see Body Spray as part of a Pissed Jeans gig at Boot & Saddle a quite few years back now "B.C." (Before COVID-19) and became instant fans. We've been in contact with Black on-and-off ever since. Legend has it, Body Spray's members met in a bowling league. "We rolled together and, then, we rocked together," as they perfectly spin it. At the time of said bowling meet-up, Dan Haddigan & Eric Kenney were in Problems and Adam Black & Ian Kiesel were in Cannon. Body Spray's 2019 full-length debut, Music to Fall Down To, is a phenomenally frantic and extremely fun display of Hoagie-core, Metal, Noise Rock, and Punk/Hardcore.

Black is, also, a member of Philly-based two and three-man bands Keystone Blight & Salt Farm and until recently, moonlighted as Influencer, although, no one knew it. Influencer is "dead." He "lost" a death match, as well as the rights to his music, social media pages, prized gold chain, and sheer identity, to a mysterious challenger from an alternate dimension known only as UNFLUENCER. Full Disclosure: UNFLUENCER is, also, Black, but this is truly a fun album narrative/transition between musical aliases. Influencer's Jamdemic was recorded during the first three months of the initial COVID-19-related Lockdown of 2020. Black recorded it in his own basement with a dusty old found keyboard, some guitars, and a ukelele.

Influencer's short and sweet discography, also, includes a 2-track EP entitled 100% Fungible that boasts a cover of "The Electric Slide," as well as an original composition. However, if you find yourself so moved to support Influencer's wife and newly-orphaned children, it is highly encouraged you purchase a copy Jamdemic on limited edition vinyl now available from Settle for It Records. Now, with the arrival of UNFLUENCER comes the next phase of this character's evolution, a new album called Are You Not Infotained? Black recorded and produced this 12-song collection in-between May & November 2021 and assures it's "a labor of love fueled by the spontaneity of basic human needs and momentary inspiration."

Each track functions its own exploration of an idea occurring over a one to two-week period. Sometimes, UNFLUENCER is sad, but mostly hopeful and generally witty. The songs of Are You Not Infotained? reflect the thoughts and feelings of another odd year where time spun out of control and the only tool for measurement has become life itself. UNFLUENCER continues to record music and is considering a run of shows sometime in the future. UNFLUENCER's Are You Not Infotained? is now available on Bandcamp and most streaming platforms, along with Influencer's Jamdemic & 100% Fungible. A limited edition vinyl pressing of Influencer's Jamdemic is available on Washington, D.C.'s own Settle for It Records.
