"Beautiful. Imagine your favorite Pop-punk band. Got it? Now, imagine that band with breath-taking harmonies, amazing guitar riffs, and a violin. Yes, a violin. Also, imagine that band is, also, able to play intricate acoustic songs. Sounds pretty damn good, doesn't it? IT SOUNDS GREAT! This album is the pinnacle of Pop-punk music," reads a 5-star PunkNews review of Yellowcard's third album, One for The Kids, from 2001. I, personally, got into Yellowcard a bit later for their massively-popular 2003 album, Ocean Avenue. It's a fantastic album end-to-end and was, essentially, the soundtrack to my later middle school/early high school life.

Around the same time, I can recall having both The Underdogs EP (2002) and Beyond Ocean Avenue: Live at The Electric Factory DVD from 2004. Yellowcard were always one of those bands I adored and enjoyed, but I hate to admit, I kinda fell off with their music after 2006's Lights & Sounds. However, with that said, they'll forever hold a special place in my heart as one of my first favorite bands. I can recall meeting frontman Ryan Key at a Warped Tour stop in Camden, NJ one summer during the early 2000's. He was so kind and caring and entertained my fanboying and fawning over his creations. Unfortunately, Yellowcard broke up in 2017, but not before doing one final tour in support of their album-length send-off, 2016's Yellowcard.

Fortunately enough, my wife and I and some friends got to see Yellowcard at the old Electric Factory in Philly and it was truly a phenomenal show to have witnessed. Now, Yellowcard have returned... well, somewhat... One for The Kids from beloved Pop-punk band Yellowcard is celebrating its 20th anniversary with a completely remixed and re-mastered high-definition version of the classic album on vinyl and digital with new artwork and featuring never-before-seen band photos and an unreleased version of the song "A.W.O.L." Lobster Records, the band's first label home, will launch pre-orders for the vinyl on "Cyber Monday," November 29th.

In addition to multiple limited edition vinyl variants, this new version of the album will, also, be released digitally on December 17th. To tide fans over until then, the fan-favorite track, "October Nights," is now streaming exclusively on Soundcloud. Check out Lobster Records' One for The Kids promo video below, as well! If interested, you can sign up for notification updates directly from Lobster Records. Founding lead guitarist Ben Harper tells SPIN, "Because of the fact that Lobster Records had stored the reel-to-reels impeccably, we were able to sonically enhance the entire project, while keeping the integrity of the original tracks. This was our first "big studio" recording experience, yet on a small ambitious label."

"We did, in fact, run over budget and time during the original recording process. The remixed, re-mastered version is One for the Kids in high-definition. It's a brand new listening experience in its entirety and you hear and feel sounds you haven't before. Fans who grew up on this album will be blown away, as well as first-time listeners will be drawn to it. This re-issue is a fantastic 20th anniversary gift or Christmas present for Yellowcard and Pop-punk fans worldwide." Yellowcard's One for The Kids 20th Anniversary Edition goes live for pre-order from Lobster Records this upcoming Monday, November 29th. With vinyl expected to be delayed indefinitely, One for The Kids will become available digitally on Friday, December 17, 2021.
