girlfriends Return with Celebratory Music Video for "Congratulations" from Upcoming Sophomore Album (Big Noise Music Group)

Just this past Friday, Big Noise Music Group—founded by Nick Gross, Jon Cohen, and John Feldmann—announced and shared a brand new single from girlfriends. Gross, Cohen, and Feldmann have all had an important hand in the Pop-punk music scene over the course of past 20-30 years. Under Big Noise, girlfriends, the Pop-punk duo comprised of Travis Mills (musical artist, Beats 1 host, actor) and Nick Gross (Big Noise, Gross Labs, Find Your Grind) confidentially released a new single with Hip-Hop artist Jasiah called "Congratulations," alongside an accompanying music video, leading up to their second album debuting later this year. girlfriends' currently ranks #8 in Spotify's New Wave/Pop-punk Artists. Travis Mills & Nick Gross both first stepped up to the plate of Rock stardom long before either of them had even left their angsty teen years.

The brash and catchy Hip-Hop Travis made in his Riverside, California bedroom and posted on MySpace as "T. Mills" led to a major label deal, a spot on the Warped Tour, and an electric buzz, foreshadowing the current era of SoundCloud Emo-rap and laptop-recorded hooks. At 17, Nick found himself in New York's Times Square playing MTV's TRL, in a Pop-punk band featured prominently on Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County, with a major label contract of their own. Oftentimes, taking inspiration from the Punk Rock music he discovered as a youth, Travis sees girlfriends as an outlet for soulful expression and emotional catharsis, a means to process his feelings of grief, uncertainty, and renewed vigor for life, in a way that's likely to connect with others who are struggling.

Nick Gross has previously spent time playing alongside or recording music with the likes of Goldfinger, Half The Animal, MOD SUN & Avril Lavigne, Open Air Stereo, Quivers Nick is equally enthusiastic to have another crack at Pop-punk, the genre that first set him on his career path. Taking sonic cues from influential artists, like blink-182, 5 Seconds of Summer, The 1975, Phoenix, and All Time Low, girlfriends is destined to cross boundaries and inspire massive sing-alongs with energetic hooks, fury, and optimistic swagger. Last year, girlfriends released their self-titled debut, which was producued by Goldfinger frontman John "Feldy" Feldmann and boasted appearances from the lieks of Bert McCracken (The Used,) Travis Barker (blink-182,) and DeathbyRomy. girlfriends' debut spawned four singles and accompanying videos. "Congratulations" is now available on your streaming service of choice and girlfriends' sophomore album is expected later this year on Big Noise Music Group.
