Brothers Barry & Kenny Schwartz Effectively Reunite As Disco Vietnam for Their First Song Together In 9 Years "When I Get Older (I Might)"

Q: Is Disco Vietnam a A. producer, B. band, or C. All of The Above? A: C. All of The Above. Disco Vitenam's Bandcamp page explains, Disco Vietnam is a Rock "N" Roll band and Hip-Hop instrumentalist from Huntington, NY. All songs by Barry & Kenny Schwartz, brothers united by blood. All beats by Barry." It appears as though Barry (@SupernovaLox) currently lives in New York and Kenny (@MadDrums) hails from somewhere in-between Los Angeles & Texas. As a two-man unit, Disco Vietnam released three EP's between 2007-12 with awesomely-titled Get At Me Corruption, Totally Awesome Decisions, and Fear of Lava. Across said recordings, The Brothers Schwartz were oftentimes assisted by bassist Jared Winzelberg, keyboardist/backing vocalist Nicki Winzelberg, and bassists Keith Allen, Tom Cumming, and Ryan Siegel.

Then, as a one-man unit, Disco Vietnam has produced tracks for emcees Zilla Rocca, Dick Wolf, Curly Castro, Gods Know AKA Scorcese Shells & Alpha Davis, Smiffson, and Prafit, as well as seven volumes of their House Rabbi series. Additionally, in his own right, Kenny Schwartz has either drummed across, produced, or engineered music for Adore Delano, Los Stellarians with Doug "S.A. Martinez (311,) Ian Abel Band, Father Dude, american splendor, Kenneth-Michael Glass, We Are The Union, and Goldfinger. Now, nine years after their last release as a proper band, Disco Vietnam have triumphantly returned with "When I Get Older (I Might)." It features Barry & Kenny Schwartz, of course, as well as bassist Kevin Perez and secondary guitarist Ian Abel. It has a feel very evocative of Silversun Pickups & The Smashing Pumpkins, which we really aren't mad about. "We recorded this two weeks before COVID when I visited Kenny in Los Angeles. We resolved to release it when we saw each other again. That turned out to be 14 months! In that time, Kenny willed himself into a world-class recording and mixing engineer and he brought it all to life," Barry Schwartz told The Witzard, via email.

"We don't have any new music coming out as a band in the immediate future, but I executive produced the new Zilla Rocca album, Vegas Vic, which Kenny mixed, and I contributed beats to Peter Rosenberg's album, Real Late, which Kenny, also, mixed. (Don't forget House Rabbi, Vol. 8!) And Kenny is building a studio in Texas, so I am sure we will work on something in the future. Disco Vietnam is forever," Schwartz continued. It should, also, be noted that in addition to all of the aforementioned material, last year, Disco Vietnam effectively re-released a 10th Anniversary Re-mastered Edition of their sophomore effort, Totally Awesome Decisions, on Bandcamp, Spotify, etc. Disco Vietnam's "When I Get Older (I Might)" is now available on streaming services. Just keep your eyes and ears peeled for further updates concerning their contributions to Zilla Rocca's Vegas Vic, Peter Rosenberg's Real Late, House Rabbi, Vol. 8, and much, much more.
