3 Feet High & Rising: Travis Mills & Nick Gross' New Pop-punk Band girlfriends Share Fun-loving "California" Music Video (Big Noise)

Following a 3-4 year self-imposed sabbatical period, Travis Mills has made his triumphant return to music with his new band, girlfriends. Consisting of Mills on vocals/guitar and drummer Nick Gross, girlfriends have premiered their first fun-loving music video for "California" on YouTube, following a sneak peek on MTV's Friday Livestream last week. Fans might recognize Travis "T. Mills" Mills from his stint on MTV's Catfish spin-off, Ghosted, his popular Beats 1 show, or numerous acting gigs. Nick Gross is the founder of Big Noise, Gross Labs, and Find Your Grind and was once part of an unnamed "Pop-punk band featured prominently on Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County," according to a recent press release. Produced by the legendary John "Feldy" Feldmann (Goldfinger, blink-182, The Used, Good Charlotte) "California" is the perfect introduction to girlfriends. "Getting to shoot this video for "California" was an epic experience," shares Nick Gross. "Travis & I being able to act in multiple scenes outside of just our performance shots was what ties this entire thing together. I think, fans will love the energy of this video and get a few laughs out of it." girlfriends' "California" showcases honest lyrics and is a tribute to where Nick Gross & Travis Mills grew up, while pulling inspiration from influential artists like blink-182, 5 Seconds of Summer, The 1975, Phoenix, and All Time Low.

Prior to forming girlfriends, Mills experienced the loss of his close friend, emcee Lil Peep, as well as a very public break-up. It was, then, Travis knew he needed a new creative vehicle to help exorcise his demons. After seeing Nick Gross drumming in an Instagram Story, he called him up. It was a fortuitous conversation, as Nick (a multi-media CEO) also, felt the urge to give a new Pop-punk band his focus. "I just had so much to write about," Travis Mills says of the sessions that turned into girlfriends' debut. "It came from a genuine place. I'd be stressed out or bawling my eyes out and the songs would come very organically. If we ever spent more than an hour trying to figure out a hook or a verse, we scrapped it and just kept moving. This project is different from anything else I've ever done." girlfriends' "California" is now available on streaming services, via Gross' own Big Noise. girlfriends have recently been teasing their send single, which it appears will be called "Eyes Wide Shut" and is expected to see a wide release on Friday, August 21, 2020. Additionally, a press release mysteiously explains, "fans can expect more music from girlfriends very soon."
