Luke Sick & G-Pek Reunite for DANKSLOB / DAMAGED GOODS Split EP Follow-up DANKSLOB II & III Cassette (Megakut Records)

DANKSLOB is a mega-mix style Hip-Hop duo consisting of emcee and multi-instrumentalist Luke Sick and Gurp City affiliated producer G-Pek. Their first release was one 13-minute side of a 2014 digi-split with J-Eazy & Brycon simply entitled DANKSLOB / DAMAGED GOODS EP. Now, nearly five years later, G-Pek & Luke Sick have finally returned with their DANKSLOB II & III double-EP released on California-based imprint, Megakut Records. When asked to tell us a bit more about DANKSLOB II & III, G-Pek (@gpekbeats) stated: "Basically, me and Luke, we're making songs. They were all on some dirthead after the party is over sh*t and we were watching The Killing of a Chinese Bookie (1976) that sh*t really spawned DANKSLOB and we just keep going... we just gurp [drink/smoke?] and record" on Twitter. If necessary, I suggest looking up both "dirthead" and "gurp" on UrbanDictionary.com—don't worry, I had to, too!—for further clarification on the terminology within G-Pek's DANKSLOB II & III statement.

Additionally, when a fan on Facebook asked Mega Kut to "describe in words what [ DANKSLOB II & III] sounds like," label head and emcee Luke Sick replied: "After WrestleMania standing in the carport with the remote still in your hand smoking roaches pinched in vice-grips, while your neighbor installs two 15's in the trunk of his '89 Jetta... It's a specific vibe." Each "side" of DANKSLOB II & III consist of six tracks and it seems as though DANKSLOB IV will be coming fairly soon, as well; "we hope to record DANKSLOB IV in the near future and then re-release all four on double-12" vinyl. Thanks for your support, puff tuff!" DANKSLOB II & III both feature beats from G-Pek and vocals from Luke Sick ( & Eddie K on "The Aroma of the Blunts") with mixing by Luke Sick and mastering by Dan Randall for Mammoth Sound Mastering. DANKSLOB II & III is currently available to purchase digitally on ME gA Kut Records' Bandcamp page, as well as 100 limited edition translucent green cassettes and a super-limited edition DANKSLOB II & III + Born Illness CD Bundle Pack with DJ Raw B.
