A.M. Breakups Returns with Out of Four Came Many Soldiers Companion Album SOLDIER Featuring billy woods, k-the-i???, Vordul Mega & More (Reservoir Sound)
A.M. Breakups is a New Orleans/Utica/Brooklyn-based multi-media artists, Polaroid photographer, beat-twisting producer, and Chief Production Engineer at Reservoir Sound, who, also, frequently goes by Marris Mielnick, Palmer Eldritch, and sometimes, Rust Martin. A.M. has affiliations with Backwoodz Studioz, we are the karma kids, Uncommon Records, and notoriously reclusive emcee Despot. Since about 2006, A.M. Breakups has released a variety of self-produced projects on Reservoir Sound & Backwoodz Studioz, plus, as part of 11:00A.M. with MC Eleven and CULT FAVORITE with Armand Hammer & Nostrum Grocers emcee E L U C I D. Although, his last proper "studio" album was 2011's The Cant Resurrection on Backwoodz Studioz, Rust Martin has quietly been self-releasing a slew of collections on his personal Bandcamp page. Most recently and most notably, in our world, at least, A.M. Breakups has painstakingly compiled and re-released a collection of previously released beats, now heard for the first time in stripped down instrumental form for his ever-evolving Architecture compilation series. Architecture 1-3 feature A.M. Breakups beats and remix instrumentals previously produced for everyone from Backwoodz Studioz's billy woods to Wrecking Crew/ShrapKnel's PremRock.
Last year, between the releases of Architecture 2 | Icarus and Architecture 3 | Hubris, A.M. Breakups let loose his latest full-length containing 100% original previously unreleased material entitled Out of Four Came Many Soldiers. Just last night, we received a Bandcamp Notification email personally penned by A.M. Breakups himself announcing yet another collection of original material simply entitled Soldier, which seems to piggy-back off of Out of Four Came Many Soldiers. It appears as though Soldier features some of the same instrumentals from Out of Four Came Many Soldiers, as well as a handful of newly-composed beats, which have now been graced by a crew of A.M. Breakups' dexterous rhyming friends and affiliates; Soldiers boasts vocal assists from the likes of SKECH185, Vordul Mega (Cannibal Ox,) billy woods, MC Eleven, Shortrock, k-the-i???, Junclassic, DJ Zesto!, LoDeck, E L U C I D, TMFSE, Teddy Faley, Buddy Leroy & DistantStarr AKA SKXLXTOR, and MC K~Swift. Now, if that list of names doesn't convince you, I would strongly suggest heading over to A.M. Breakups' Bandcamp page and checking out Soldier. Below, you can read A.M. Breakups' full Bandcamp Notification email/SOLDIER "origin story" and stream Soldier on Bandcamp, Spotify, and other like-minded digital streaming platforms—complete with alternative artwork!—while you're at it.
"Hi, guys. So, I stay pretty secretive most of the time, but once in a while, I have to tell you what's going on. At midnight, I'm releasing a new album. It's beats I created for my instrumental album, Out of Four Came Many Soldiers (thank all of you for your support!) with some new instrumentals, and a lot of new rap...
Cannibal Ox has blessed my living room/recording studio. billy woods has blessed me. SKECH185 has blessed me. MC K~Swift. Junclassic from Monster Island Czars. Masai Bey, the original WeatherMan. k-the-i??? of the original Cambridge alternative scene. Komadose/NMS/TFD. TMFSE from SlangCorp/Smokers Cough. Teddy Faley. LoDeck, the trickster from Johnny23 came through. I could not be more thankful to have my favorite artists take the time to be a part of this collaborative operation.
I started off on this musical journey alone and eventually, I realized there were others equally dedicated to their specific crafts. I am so thankful that I've had the privilege to work with so many of my heroes on this project. SOLDIER drops at midnight on Bandcamp with an exclusive BONUS TRACK and will be available on all digital outlets within the week, featuring alternative artwork. Out of Four Came Many Soldiers.
All my love from The Big Easy,"
