One-Eyed Peace Sign: M.I.A. - "Bad Girls" (VICE & Noisey Music Re-hash)

While I honestly can't say that I physically own any of her 3 critically-acclaimed CD's... I can however admit that I've thoroughly enjoyed and loved what visual artist-turned musician, Maya "M.I.A." Arulpragasam has been able to do for both Pop Culture and humanity since 2000-05. I'm just gonna go ahead and go out on a limb, cause we're all "friends" here - Right? There isn't very much ACTUAL news to report on here... But I'm just gonna give it my best shot! While M.I.A.'s latest Romain Gavras-directed music video was debuted online Friday afternoon, along with that new Nicki Minaj-featuring Madonna track, "Bad Girls" is far from BRAND SPANKIN' NEW; It originally appeared on M.I.A.'s post- /\/\ /\ Y /\ odds-and-ends mixtape, Vicki Leekx (2010) and was produced by Timbaland-associate, Danja.

M.I.A. performed [a segment of] "Give Me All Your Luvin'" alongside Nicki Minaj, Cee-Lo, and LMFAO during Madonna's Superbowl medley last night... flipping off the cameraman during her verse, much to NCAA censors' dismay. M.I.A. will reportedly appear on 2 tracks within Madonna's upcoming new album, MDNA (May) and is currently working on her own, as yet untitled fourth studio album. Details are scarce, but it should be released by Summer, and M.I.A. just might be collaborating with the likes of Nicki Minaj, Chris Brown, The Cataracs, Swizz Beatz, and Polow da Don. Anyways, don't fret - "Bad Girls"' companion clip, which premiered over @ Noisey Music (VICE) the other day, features plenty of cliché Hip-Hop hi-jinx and has already raked up 3 million+ hits!

"It was dope to have so many people from so many different backgrounds speaking so many different languages come together to create something that we believed in," says M.I.A. about the video. "I thought I was gonna die on the shoot when I saw the drifting. It was a 4-day shoot so everyone was on edge the whole time specifically ME when I had to do "Bluesteel" singing to the camera while the cars did doughnuts on the wet road 10 feet away. In my mind I was thinking how I was gonna deliver the video to VICE with no legs."
