Stan Ipcus Returns with New Seasonally-appropriate Fall Mixtape Foliage Featuring Jason Griff, Disco Vietnam & Max Bent (Bandcamp Exclusive)

Foliage is the latest seven-track mixtape from White Plains, New York emcee, producer, music journalist, and children's book author Stan Ipcus. It's the proper follow-up to his Spotify-only exclusive release aptly titled White Label. Actually, Foliage boasts two of the same tracks as White Label with "Grizzly" and "Cream." Ipcus expalins Foliage is "a dedication to the most beautiful time of the year in The 914 and a nod to the trees. Memories of summer, change, nostalgia, new school energy, lush landscapes, fall flavors, crisp breezes, and bright colors that eventually turn dark." Along with "Grizzly" and "Cream," "Pumpkin Cheesecake" has been previously released, as well. So, that leaves "Bust The Way I Flip It," "Tummy Time," "Ganja," and "Gifted" as the four brand new new tracks on Foliage.

Stan Ipcus himself produced "Grizzly," "Bust The Way You Flip It," and "Cream." In addition to Ipcus, Foliage boasts production work throughout from Jason Griff on "Tummy Time," Disco Vietnam on "Ganja," and long-time friend/collaborator Max Bent on "Gifted" and super-festive closer "Pumpkin Cheesecake." Ipcus wrote on Twitter that "I live and breathe this Hip-Hop sh*t. My contribution to this culture, from the music to the writing, is my life's greatest passion. I'm out here just doing my best, raising four kids, and working my a$$ off to support us. Still, I find time to contribute because it's important. And this is my latest contribution. Seven tracks. Me in my comfort zone and my uncomfortable zone."

"Rapping, producing, working with new peeps, @iamJasonGriff, and old friends, @max_bent, trying new things and expanding on the essence of Stan Ipcus," @stanipcus continued. Foliage is just that, a seasonaly-appropriate short and sweet mixtape that's over in less than 20 minutes. It's moderately fall-themed or fall-evoking, but Ipcus doesn't blanantly hit you over the head with obvious fall puns and such; it's a bit more subdued and plays out as perfect thought-provoking or just fun background msuic. If you listen closely, you'll hear a few samples most advid music fans should know, but we won't give away any spoilers—there's really no fun in that, is there?

Ipcus recently told us "Bust The Way I Flip It" will likely be the next single widely released to streaming services. If you're a new fan (or even an old fan) looking to get into Stan Ipcus' back catalog, we would strongly recommend checking out his recent 32-track mixtape, Best of I.P. Freestyles. We even got Stan Ipcus himself himself to break down a handful of his personal favorites from the mega-tape for The Witzard. For now, Stan Ipcus' Foliage is exclusively available on Bandcamp.
